01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Situated on the second floor of a building in Nihonbashi Ningyocho, BLOODY DOLL is a bar stocked with properly chilled, authentic vodkas and a diverse selection of Japanese whiskies. Drawing from the heritage of a vodka bar formerly based in Ginza, its backbar and cellar feature labels rarely encountered elsewhere. Beyond pours served neat for sipping, the master accommodates diverse tastes with cocktails like dry martinis and mojitos, as well as whisky served on the rocks or with soda.

An appealing part of the visit is the food available to graze on between drinks. Seasonal raw oysters from Akkeshi, alongside easy-to-order dishes like gyoza and pelmeni, provide satisfying pairings for neat spirits and highballs.

The interior is appointed with both counter and booth seating, suiting quiet solo drinks just as naturally as outings with friends. Equipped with musical instruments and karaoke, the space carries an easygoing lounge feel, where the owner's affable demeanor makes it simple to settle in over music and conversation. Lit late into the evening, this Ningyocho retreat offers an unhurried setting to find a preferred drink and unwind.
